Mushroom Monotubs & Monotub Grow Kits

Bulk fruiting chambers for serious yields. A monotub is a clear bin with controlled humidity and fresh-air exchange โ€” the standard high-flush fruiting environment after your bulk substrate is colonized. Sized from 18 quart starter tubs up to full Max Yield Bin V2 setups.

A monotub is the bulk fruiting chamber where colonized bulk substrate meets the air, humidity, and light it needs to pin and flush. Start with a colonized bag of substrate, mix in your grain spawn, transfer to the tub, fan and mist on schedule, and harvest multiple flushes from a single setup. Refills and complete monotub fill kits are stocked for repeat runs without re-buying the tub.

Quick Answers
A monotub is a clear plastic bin used as a bulk fruiting chamber. It holds colonized bulk substrate and provides the high humidity, fresh-air exchange, and indirect light mushrooms need to pin and fruit in volume. The bin is modified with cut holes covered by poly-fil or micropore tape so air can move through without drying the substrate out. After your bulk substrate bag is colonized, you transfer it to the tub for fruiting โ€” this is the standard high-yield path for cubensis, oyster, and other bulk-friendly species.
Both work; they're the two paths after bulk substrate inoculation. Grow-in-bag is simpler โ€” open the bag, mix in grain spawn, heat seal closed, fruit through a slit once colonized. Smaller flushes, contained mess. Monotub is the higher-yield path โ€” empty the bulk substrate bag into the tub, mix in spawn, and you get more humidity control, larger pinning surface, and multiple flushes from one setup. Monotub wins when yield matters; grow-in-bag wins when simplicity matters.
For first-time growers and small batches, an 18 quart Minitub handles a single 6 lb bag of bulk substrate with room to fruit comfortably. For repeat or larger runs, our Max Yield Bin V2 (sold individually and in 3/5/10 packs) is sized for full bulk yields and built specifically for mycology โ€” pre-cut holes, the right depth-to-surface ratio, and a clear body for monitoring pinning without opening the lid.
Wipe the tub interior with isopropyl alcohol. Confirm the holes are open and covered with poly-fil or micropore tape for filtered air exchange. Open your bulk substrate bag in a clean environment, mix in colonized grain spawn at roughly 1:2 to 1:3 ratio, transfer the mixed substrate into the tub and spread evenly. Mist and fan once or twice a day during colonization at approximately 76ยฐF. When you see pins, increase fresh-air exchange and harvest each flush at the right stage.
