Glass bead sterilizers are the most convenient and safest way to sterilize your mycology tools for mushroom culture work.  Simply switch on the sterilizer and let come to temperature (about 10 minutes).  When hot insert the working end of your tool (eg. scalpel) into the glass beads for 5-10 seconds, remove and use.  No alcohol or open flame to catch things on fire!
